Two Certification Systems
GRLI’s professional certification architecture comprises two connected systems. GBCF addresses applied global business capability through the GBA, GBS and GBP pathways, while GCRC focuses on commercial research capability through the GCRA and GCRS pathways.

Assessment decisions should be supported by sufficient, relevant and reviewable evidence from the candidate’s own work.
Practical Application
Candidates demonstrate how they apply information, methods and judgement to practical questions rather than knowledge recall alone.
Structured Deliverables
Evidence may include reports, presentations, project outputs, portfolios, interviews, oral defence and reflective statements.
Independent Review

The candidate’s intended pathway, age, education or professional background and ability to provide the required evidence are reviewed against the applicable criteria.

Eligible candidates complete the approved registration process and confirm the relevant policies, requirements and declarations before assessment begins.

Task and Deliverables
Candidates submit the required work and supporting evidence in the approved format, including any authenticity, authorship and AI-use declarations.

Assessment
Authorised reviewers assess the evidence against published criteria. Clarification, interview or oral defence may be required where appropriate.

Decision and Credential
The decision is recorded following the required review and quality-control process and may include certification, further evidence required or an unsuccessful outcome.

Eligibility
- General Eligibility
- Applicants must meet the requirements of the selected pathway and be able to submit sufficient evidence of their own work. Detailed criteria may vary by pathway and assessment version.
- Student Eligibility
- Grade 10 / Senior High School Year 1 or equivalent. Student applicants must also meet the assessment, language, evidence and participation requirements applicable to the selected pathway.
- Professional Eligibility
- Professional applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant learning, project work or practical experience appropriate to the level and scope of the selected certification.
- Minor Participation
- Applicants under 18 may participate only under applicable minor-participation procedures, including guardian consent, privacy safeguards and restrictions on external use of submitted work. Legal review required before publication.
- Required Evidence
- Evidence may include reports, presentations, project outputs, structured interviews, oral defence, portfolio materials, reflective statements, reviewer observations and AI-use declarations.

Reviewer Independence
Reviewers should assess evidence impartially and should not make decisions where a relevant personal, institutional or commercial conflict exists.

Certification records, assessment outcomes and supporting documentation should be subject to appropriate checks, version control and authorised approval.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is GBCF a university qualification?
No. GBCF certification is a professional competency assessment operated by GRLI. It is not a university degree, academic credit, government licence or regulated professional qualification.
Is certification based only on an examination?
No. Depending on the pathway, assessment may include reports, presentations, project outputs, interviews, oral defence and other evidence of applied capability.
Can AI tools be used?
AI-assisted tools may be used where permitted by the applicable assessment requirements. Candidates must disclose their use and remain responsible for accuracy, authorship, judgement and the final submitted work.
Does participation guarantee certification?
No. Participation in a course, project, partnership or advisory activity does not guarantee certification. Certification depends on the evidence submitted and the assessment decision.
Can students apply?
Eligible students from Grade 10, Senior High School Year 1 or an equivalent level may be considered, subject to the requirements of the selected pathway and applicable minor-participation safeguards.
Does certification guarantee employment?
No. Certification does not guarantee employment, promotion, immigration outcomes, university admission, academic credit or professional licensing.
